Biography

Christine Richards was born in San Diego and raised in Folsom, Calif., where her parents and younger sister still reside. She began dancing at the age of three and trained in Cecchetti and RAD ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Afro-Cuban dance until the age of 15 in which she expanded her repertoire further by investing in vocal lessons. Richards trained under many influential artists including Al Gilbert, Paula Abdul, Pepper Von, Pamela Hayes and Byron Gregory. She was awarded the Sacramento Area Dance Alliance Scholarship in 1999 and 2000 and also received a Dance Scholarship Award from the I Love Dance competition circuit.

Richards spent approximately one year dancing for Carnival Cruise Line on the De/Az Elation and M/S Fantasy. Upon completion of her second dance contract for CCL, Richards moved to Las Vegas, Nev., and continued to further her dance career while completing a bachelor’s degree in journalism and media studies. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on December 16, 2008.

In Las Vegas, Richards performed alongside Tony Bennett, Regis Philbin and Maya Angelou, and opened for the likes of Styx. She also entertains at a variety of special events for various hotel casinos such as MGM Grand, Wynn, Planet Hollywood and Mandalay Bay. Most recently, Richards performed in an impersonator show entitled, “Famous Artist Show” in its winter tour of Seoul, Korea.

She misses being near her family but has a wandering spirit that always seems to draw her in other directions. “Ultimately, it’s our reaction to life’s challenges that defines us and helps pave the way for the future,” Richards said.
